We are pleased to announce the availability of the new MCM 2nd generation Sub-base, which we call the SB-2. This product is the result of over a year of development and testing to facilitate the construction of underground networks with MCM joint distribution pedestals (JDP). We have indeed succeeded in completely freeing the interior of the structure to remove any impediment to the introduction of conduits into the Sub-base. At the same time, MCM introduces a new standard with this Sub-base, the use of liquid concrete with a strength of 1,0 to 1,8 MPa, replacing the old method of using flowable concrete (0.5 to 0.8 MPa). The proposed installation specification is included in the “Customer Drawings” section of our site. The suggested retail price of the SB-2 is slightly higher than that of the SB-1; however, we believe that a substantial economy will be achieved in the time of installation, making it more economical than the SB-1, when including the cost of installation.
