The MCM System^TM consists of a decorative lamp post which is mounted on a cylindrical cabinet which enables the connections of the power (120/240V) as well as the telecommunications (telephone and cable TV) for the surrounding homes. This cabinet, called a "Joint distribution pedestal (JDP)" or "Common distribution base", we call it an "MCM cabinet". This cabinet enables the concealment of these network connections without the requirement of handholes and individual pedestals.

Promoting a "common-trenching" approach to line burial, the MCM Base system allows for significant savings compared with the traditional multi-trenching approach. The MCM cabinet may also be used for applications other than line burial. For example, it may be used to accommodate instrumentation devices as well as control or measuring equipment for a multitude of applications.
