The MCM Joint Distribution Pedestal, or MCM-JDP, was introduced by MCM in Quebec in spring of 2005 in new residential
projects, as a natural extension of the common trenching concept for the power and telecom underground (U/G) networks. Since
then, the MCM Base has evolved to become an optimal solution improving several aspects of the U/G networks, while greatly
improving the visual environment of these projects. Today, we find almost 1800 MCM-JDPs installed in more than 35 municipalities
in Quebec, Canada.
The following schematics show typical layouts of the MCM-JDP in a new development project with semi-detached homes. The top one is for lamp posts on either side of the street, the bottom one for lamp posts on one side only.
