MCM-iV Configurations

The MCM-iV System, taking you a step further ahead, can be integrated in two way: with joint bases or dedicated bases. This page will help you make the best choice for your needs.

Joint Configuration

The MCM-iV Joint Distribution Pedestal, or MCM-iV JDP, is a novel concept based on an optimization of the conventional undergrounding system. For a general view of the MCM-iV (intermedaite voltage) system, please take a look at the MCM-iV Diagram.

The following schematics show typical layouts of the MCM-iV JDP in a new development project with semi-detached homes. The top one is for lamp post on either side of the street, the bottom one for lamp pots on one side only. For other types of configuration using the MCM Bases, please refer to the MCM Configurations Table.

Dedicated Configuration

The MCM-iV System, is a novel concept based on an optimization of the conventional undergrouding system. For a general view of the MCM-iV (intermedaite voltage) system, please take a look at the MCM-iV Diagram.

The MCM-iV Bases can be used as dedicated pedestals for power only, while using MCM Bases for telecom services. The benefits are similar to the MCM-JDP system, except that more street crossings are required when selecting the dedicated configuration. Where street crossings is not an issue, the MCM-iV dedicated cofiguration may be seen as a suitable way to integrate the T/C pedestals while getting rid of the pad-mounted transformers on front lawns.

The folowing schematics show typical layouts of the MCM Dedicated Bases in a new development project with semi-detached homes. The top one is for lamp post on either side of the street, the bottom one for lamp pots on one side only. For other types of configuration using the MCM Bases, please refer to the MCM Configurations Table.
