Electric Vehicles (EVs) have been announced for several years and are now being intrduced on a large scale basis. This require a Charging Infrastructure in order to extend their autonomy beyond the 50 to 100 miles announced for a single charge which could be done conveniently at home during the night.

Public charging infrastructures are more challenging than home charging installations because of the short time frame allowed to charge the vehicle. This requires the ability to bring significant amount of energy at curbside and in public parking areas. The MCM cabinet is equiped with a power panel with enough capacity to feed several fast chargers, AC or DC. For larger or faster chargeing infrastructure, the MCM EV-Base can be supplemented by a special Morris Column fitted with the required power electronics. The Smart Grid components required for Smart Charging will also be suitably housed inside the MCM enclosures.
